Visiting Australia along with the famed Evzones (or traditionally-garbed Presidential Guard), the Greek Minister for Culture & Sports, Dr. Lina Mendoni, helped launch the stunning new archaeological exhibition – ‘Open Horizons: Ancient Greek Journeys and Connections’ – at the Melbourne Museum on Thursday 28th April.
Attending the premiere were countless other luminaries from Greece and Australia; as well as yours truly.
And, after a personal introduction by the Hellenic Consul-General to Victoria, Mr Emmanuel Kakavelakis, Minister Mendoni graciously received a copy of ‘Olympia’ by way of a thank you / efcharisto for bringing such an iconic cultural (and martial) display of Hellenism to my home city of Melbourne.
