The Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports has recently collaborated with Microsoft to painstakingly recreate Olympia as the site operated as both Panhellenic sanctuary and home to the ancient Olympics for more than 1,100 years.
The exhibit, as housed within the new Olympics Museum in Athens, is entitled ‘Ancient Olympia: Common Grounds’.
Deploying expert archaeological detail, drone and ground effect cameras, as well as artificial intelligence guided 3D effects and speaking tours, the viewer can appreciate the full glory of the ancient Games as never before.
If you don’t have the opportunity to experience the full 3D exhibition within the Athens Olympic Museum (wearing your designer 3D AI goggles), you can still visit this glorious digital preservation here: https://olympiacommongrounds.gr/explore
